Generally, sleep disturbance becomes greater at altitudes of 13,200 feet or more. The disturbance is thought to be caused by diminished oxygen levels and accompanying changes in respiration. Most people adjust to new altitudes in approximately two to three weeks — from Jet Lag and Sleep.

In general, exercising regularly makes it easier to fall asleep and contributes to sounder sleep. There are so many gimmicks and misrepresentations that are designed to lure you into bed. Today I will touch on the two most common misrepresentations made in most bed and mattress stores.

Organic and Hypoallergenic

Organic and Hypoallergenic are two terms in specific that are thrown around VERY loosely in the industry.
You have to be aware that these two terms are not controlled by any agency, and is left open for interpretation by any manufacturer.
Any mattress that contains foam cannot and will not ever be Hypoallergenic much less organic for this simple fact.
Foam collects and traps moisture. Trapped moisture is a perfect growing-ground for mold, mildew, bacteria, bed-mites and dust-mites, all known allergens.

A Hastens bed is a "breathing bed" that allows air to circulate through the bed. This keeps the bed dry, thus it actually IS hypoallergenic in it's true sense.

Beauty Sleep - Does it exist?

Did you ever hear your better half say "honey, I have to get my "beauty sleep", and you find yourself thinking, yeah right you lazy bum.
The fact is there is such a thing. Our bodies are programmed to shut down 7-9 hours per day as adults. The reason is that our body need to be undisturbed while it is carrying out it's healing functions. At our deepest sleep level number five is when our body start it's fantastic healing.
Your immune system goes to work fighting of bacteria, viruses and also unhealthful chemicals that we expose ourselves to on a daily basis. In fact the chemicals found in a standard foam mattress are so veil that I'll save that for another chapter.

Our bodies also detox while sleeping at level 5. We do this through perspiration. We loose approximately 1/3 of a gallon on 8 hours of sleep - That's why you weigh typically one pound less in the morning.

And finally......... New cell-growth occurs. new cells heal injuries like cuts and bruises, but also it replenishes skin. So it is a medical fact, that if you get the right amount of undisturbed, well balanced sleep, you will get less wrinkles! Thus the term beauty sleep.

The problem is most Americans spend their nights on poorly manufactured toxic mattresses, that are typically made much too firm.
This disturbs your sleep. Studies have shown that when you sleep on such a bed, you toss and turn an average of 200 times on an 8 hour sleep session.
While you toss and turn, you constantly push yourself out of the current sleep level you are in.
Sometimes you even wake yourself or your spouse up.... Sounds familiar? I thought so.

Here is a test for you:
Sleep level 5 is also where you dream. This level is also known as REM. (Rapid Eye Movement)
If you wake up in the morning, and you have no recollection what you dreams were about, you didn't dream, which means you never went to level 5, thus more wrinkles. Ouch!
So what is the answer,....... easy. Try a Hastens Bed, because this is a bed dreams are made of!
Follow the link to your Hastens store, and start checking around.
